Gearing up for the Cape Town Cycle Tour (The Argus)

The Cape Town Cycle Tour is almost here!!

SA’s most iconic cycling event  the Cape Town Cycle Tour (commonly known as just “the Argus”) is turning 40 this year!   It will take place on 12 March 2017.  The race is reverting back to its traditional annual date of the second Sunday in March.

In 1978 just 525 riders took part, but this year the event will see 35 000 entrants.  The cyclists will line up in Hertzog Boulevard to tackle the spectacular 109-kilometre loop of the Cape peninsula. In so doing, they will not only participate in the world’s largest timed cycling event, but be part of a special day in the history of the event.
