Things To Do In Gordons Bay
There are so many things to do in Gordons Bay and the surrounding area! This little coastal village is the perfect location in which to base your coastal holiday in the Cape. Nestled between beautiful beaches and majestic mountains, this hidden gem is just 30 minutes from Cape Town International Airport. Apart from the most beautiful scenery and many outdoor activities, the village boasts an old and a new harbour area with several excellent pubs and restaurants.
One of the biggest attractions in the Cape is of course its famous winelands. The nearest wine area, the Helberburg region, is a mere 10 minutes drive from Gordon’s Bay. Stellenbosch, Franschoek and Paarl are also within easy driving distance.
Gordon’s Bay is ideal as a base for a golfing holiday. The central location is perfect for golfers as Gordons Bay is surrounded by a selection of the best courses in the Western Cape. These include Erinvale, Stellenbosch, Somerset West Country Club, Strand and the “SA Top 5” Arabella championship course.
Clarence Drive, the coastal road from Gordon’s Bay towards Hermanus, is not only one of the most scenic drives in the country, but in the world. It features dramatic coast line and beaches, and is not to be missed! This and the many majestic mountain passes in the area are a great attraction for bike enthusiasts. The whale watching season is from June to November. Gordon’s Bay is known as the Gateway to the Whale Route. Hermanus, probably the most famous whale watching point, is just up the coast. Seeing these majestic creatures in their natural habitat is a very special experience.

City of Cape Town
The city of Cape Town is just a scenic 50 km drive away. There you can enjoy the V&A Waterfront with its world class shops, Robben Island and of course the imposing Table Mountain.
There are also many small coastal villages which are well worth a visit, such as Hout Bay, Kalk Bay, Kleinmond and Simon’s Town.
